Book an free online assessment for your child (available for years 1-7). The report is written in such a way that you can take it to school to discuss the areas where your child has been successful and where further work is needed.
How Is the Curriculum Assessed in Schools?
At the beginning of the school year, teachers will need to use a diagnostic assessment to determine every child’s understanding of a particular topic.
If there is little knowledge of the topic or the child has made less progress than expected then the teacher will need to return to work covered on that same topic in previous years. If a child is doing very well or has made more than expected progress, then they may be moved onto a higher level of work, perhaps from the year above.
During the school year and at the end of the school year, teachers will be continually testing and recording their pupil’s progress to see if they are maintaining progress.
The Extra Tuition Centre has called on its 48 years of experience to devise tests that will help parents to determine just where your children are within the national curriculum.
To determine which assessment you need to book for your child, think about the following:
Is your child
· Working below expected level
· Working towards expected level
· Working at expected level
· Working above expected level
· Working at greater depth
